Trick or Treating

Yes, that's right - our area had trick or treating tonight - October 30th.
As the neighbor put it, "We live in the Bible Belt and they'd never have trick or treating on a Sunday."
Well this was new to me!

We went over to a friends house and Katelyn seemed to enjoy trick or treating.
By the end of the night she had the hang of it - when we'd get to a driveway, she'd head right up to the house, pick a piece of candy out of the bowl and carry it in her hand until she got back to the sidewalk, then stop and put it in her pumpkin.
So cute!

These costumes weren't planned this way but they sure did go together nicely.

She had to 'offload' into Daddy's pocket along the way because her pumpkin was getting too heavy and there was NO way she was giving that pumpkin up!!

Halloween was so much fun this year and next year will just get better - she'll be a year older and Emmalyn's daddy will be back as well!
Great memories to be had by all!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to a Pumpkin Patch in SE Georgia. When we left it was a little chilly but after being there a few minutes it was pretty hot. I guess that's what fall in GA feels like. Maybe by January it will cool down a bit. Should make for some sticky trick or treating tonight!

I'd never seen this before but thought it was pretty clever.
According to Jack, it's nothing new.
I still thought it was cute!

These animals must love the month of October - they get fed constantly!!


This was the goat bridge.
The goat waited at the top on the end.
There was a pulley system with a can on it,
you put food in it and then sent it to the top.
Pretty funny!

She loves slides but this one was a bit too fast for her I think.
She didn't ask to go again! HA!

Look what Daddy taught me!

Ohhh how fun it is to have Daddy back!! I know he's going to teach me many more tricks and things Mommy might not think are too cool.....but....isn't that what Daddy's are for?!?

I love you Daddy and am SO glad you are home with me and Mommy!

Pumpkin Carving

Last night Jack and Katelyn carved a pumpkin, or should I say Jack carved a pumpkin. Either way, Katelyn was happy to take her large spoon and "try" to help clean out the inside, but didn't quite care for touching it. The "squishy" stuff wasn't her cup of tea...maybe next year!

Welcome Home Jack!!!

After a long year, Jack's 3rd tour in Iraq is finally done.
He arrived home with the rest of E Co in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
We thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and support over this past year.
It is so wonderful to have our family complete again!!

Still waking up and trying to figure out why she is at
ANOTHER one of these crazy ceremonies and at this god awful time of night!

There were 353 soldiers on his flight!!!!
(Katelyn was a little puzzled how "the guy" in the computer was standing in front of her!!)


"I guess you are ok and we can take you home with us."


It feels like a dream still!
I love my soldier with all my heart!




We made it home!!
It's now 3:30 AM!!


Daddy helping put Katelyn back to bed - almost 4 AM at this point!
She was such a trooper and crashed the minute she got back in bed
and slept in til almost 9 AM too!!
