Happy Memorial Day!!

2 of the loves of my life!
Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

I'm most thankful for my soldier and all the sacrifices he's made in his life to make our country the best it can be! And thinking today of all those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. I hope their families can fine peace especially on days like today. The BBQs and Pool parties going on this weekend are possible because of those brave souls. Please never forget!

Tired lil fella!

He was downstairs playing and climbed up on Jack's lap. Jack sat him in the chair with him and next thing you know......cashed out! This is the first time he's ever fallen asleep in a crazy place on his own. Precious!!

Roubidoux Rock Skippin' - Memorial Day Weekend

After we got home from Ha Ha Tonka State Park and everyone took naps, yes even Katelyn, we ate dinner and then headed to the Waynesville Park. The weather was just beautiful out. The kids played on the playground for a bit. It was difficult to break Will from the swings because every time I tried he would get upset, but once we started on our next adventure he was fine.

Katelyn's a professional rock skipper!

And Will got his first lesson in rock skipping.

He enjoyed it quite a bit.

Then we told Katelyn she could take off her shoes and wade in the water. She was hesitant at first but that quickly wore off!

Even Daddy got in for a minute, but he didn't care for the sharp rocks poking his feet AND it was a bit chilly!!

Will had on his little water shoes and got just to the edge.

Katelyn was digging for just the perfect rock and got her buns a bit wet hehee!!

And then without paying attention to what he was doing took a few steps out into the water. He immediately started screaming. I think the temperature was a shock to his system!! He wasn't so much a fan!
What a fun day we had enjoying Missouri on one of our last free weekends here!

Ha Ha Tonka State Park - Memorial Day Weekend

 Fine Print: Picture overload :)!!

Beautiful overlook of Lake of the Ozarks

A KC business man bought this land in the early 1900s and started building a "castle." Only a year after he started building it, he was killed in an automobile accident. His sons finally completed the castle in 1922 and in 1942, the castle and stable were burned by a fire and in 1976 the water tower also burned.

Here are the remains of the castle.

Mommy even snuck in on a picture!

Our map reader

One tired lil dude!

A natural bridge

She found some bugs crawling on this limb and was very fascinated with them.

Posing for a picture on own way to the springs

Beautiful blue/green water

Checking everything out

Look at that hair again!!!

We found some wildlife! And we even had a snake cross the path in front of us too.

Walking back to the car

She had a blast exploring everything and wanted to go even further, but lil man was done for the day and starting to make life miserable for everyone else.

I can't wait to go on more of these fun adventures with the kids! It's so fun watching them take everything in!!

{15 Months Pictures}

Well here are Mr. Grumpy, Cranky pants' 15 months photos! Not the best, but the pictures definitely explain the mood he has been in all day!

"Alright Mom, I've had enough. I'm done!"

And unfortunately, this picture pretty much sums up our day. He was pretty much like this the entire day; nothing you did made him happy....that is until Daddy came home and then life was a little better, not perfect but a little better. So, this is probably our shortest monthly session to date. Oh well, life I suppose!
