Backyard Water Fun!

 Warning: PICTURE OVERLOAD!

We got a small pool and set it up in the backyard. The weather was actually bearable for the non swimmers too. Will hasn't been a fan of the water or pools so I wasn't expecting much. He actually enjoyed it, but wouldn't sit down in the pool. He walked around and played, but never got too comfy!

(Time for a haircut I think!)

Watch out - she'll squirt you!

And he'll use his watering can to dump water on you!

Playing nicely together....can you believe it!?

My cutie patootie!

And my sweet, pretty girl!

After the pool lost it's appeal, we set up the sprinkler.

Will got much closer than I ever imagined he would!

And then Daddy brought out the BIG guns! And the FUNNNN began!

She loved teasing Daddy and then running when he sprayed her. They were all having a blast!!! Love seeing this!

"You can't get me Daddy!"

And Will was also running from the squirt guns.

On the Run!

And Will couldn't stop giggling either!

Fun was had by everyone! Big and Little!!! It's so cool that Jack still has his super soaker water guns from when he was a kid and they are still in great working order! I feel like these bad boys are going to get LOTS of use over the next several years!

{Watch Me Grow} 16 Months

Milestones/New Developments:
Not a lot of new developments to report this month. He's just continuing to keep us on our toes :)

 Eating:
He continues to love pasta. He would eat shells and cheese for every meal right now.

Language:
I kind of failed in this department with all the chaos going on this month.

Sleeping:
He has continued with his great sleeping since being done with the bottle! He still takes his 2 naps a day and sleeps all night. All night means 7:30-6(at the latest) but usually in the 5-5:30 range. I wish he'd sleep longer, but it sure beats all the getting up during the night and I'll take it!

Events/Traveling:
Visit from the Jones'

Ha Ha Tonka State Park - He continues to dislike riding long distances in the car so he made it a fun trip. Ha!

Skipped rocks/started to walk in the Roubidioux Creek in Waynesville

Attended Daddy's farewell ceremony and lunch. As soon as it ended and the receiving line started, he made a mad dash for Jack. I guess he wanted to be in on the action. It was pretty cute!

Play date with friends and water! We're going to miss the Hintz's; good thing the Burges' are coming with us ! :)

Enjoyed riding on the Cub Cadet with Daddy.

Went to the swimming pool/splash pad on post for the first time this summer. He was pretty skeptical at first and finally warmed up to the splash pad. He didn't care for the kiddie pool at all.

He attended many practices and games for Katelyn's t-ball team. Oh the joys of being the younger sibling! She'll probably never get drug to his practices.

And finally  for this busy month - packed and moved to Leavenworth, KS. He wasn't always the most helpful, but at least he got a little fun out of it.

And our new house has stairs and we can't keep this little guy off of them! Fortunately, it has a gate at the bottom that is attached to the wall, but it seems as though he has a little sensor and knows when that gate is open.

Favorite Toys/Books:
He's been super interested in books lately. He'll bring one over and want to crawl up on your lap so you can read it to him. He gets antsy when there are lots of words on the page, but as long as it's not too long he'll mostly sit still.

Caught him in his room reading his books that were about to be packed.
Soda cans also make great stacking toys

And boxes are super fun to play in!
Random Pictures:

He got up at his usual early time and it was Jack's turn to get up with him. After being awake for a couple hours, he just feel asleep sitting in the chair next to Daddy while watching TV.

He stepped on something, and his foot was bleeding pretty bad. And the only bandaids I could find at the moment for Princess ones, so he got to sport them. I guess it's time I get some boy themed ones!

Stats for the month:
~24 pounds
12-18 month clothes
Size 5/6 shoes and sandals
Size 4 diapers
9 teeth

THE Move - Leonard Wood to Leavenworth!

We've been packing and wrapping for our move in just a few days. The kids are doing quite well in all the chaos but thank goodness that the Grandma and Papa back up showed up!

Cans of soda are great to play with when all of your toys are packed up....or probably even when all of your toys are still out! Ha!

Boxes also make great toys! What a cute little package!

Papa really enjoyed reading the Barbie book to the kids....I'm sure it was his first pick too!

We've been packing and moving boxes into the formal dining room so we can have most things all together to make loading a little easier.

Time to fill 'er up!

Papa and Katelyn working hard...well Papa at least!
We loaded the car, tractor mower and some furniture into the trailer on Wednesday night. Jack and I left at 0 dark 30 to head to Leavenworth on Thursday morning to meet the landlord at the house around lunchtime to sign for the house. Matt also left at 0 dark 30 to meet us at Leavenworth. He is going to help unload this load and then ride back to St. Robert with us to help with the load.
Ready to roll!
We arrived at our new house and it's going to be just fine for the next year or 2. I think we are going to enjoy our neighborhood, especially with this great little park right across the street from our house. Katelyn can look out her bedroom window and see the playground. She's going to love it!

Our new house! That 3rd car garage is going to be awesome! And mean that the Monte and MY car can fit into the garage!

They put out little flags....so patriotic!
We unloaded the first load in Leavenworth and then headed back to St. Robert to load the house.
Matt and Jack loading up Katelyn's room

Ugh - too much stuff!

And it's SOOOO hot :(

Jeff took on the job of bringing stuff up from the basement.

Finally! Close those suckers up! It's all in!

2 hot and tired loaders! Couldn't do it without all our family and friends helping!

The caravan is about read to head out. Jack and trailer, John and trailer and Dad/Matt are all leaving together. My mom, I and the kids are staying around to wait on the carpets to get cleaned and then someone to come check out the house and turn over the keys! Almost there!

Part of the help - John was already in his truck!

We're trying to kill some time while they are cleaning carpets. This was a tough job but Grandma did a good job!
While we were staying behind a couple hours to get the carpets cleaned and meet Katelyn's tball team for team pictures, the guys and trailers took off and headed to Leavenworth. By the time we arrived, they had most of the stuff unloaded off the trailer. Let's just say I was a bit overwhelmed. It was so hot that they  just got it all in the house and there was stuff EVERYWHERE! Look at that garage! AHHH!
Full but at least the garage door closes!

Stuff everywhere!

But even with stuff everywhere, the K-State rock was found and put into place! It is right at home being back in Kansas! And it's soooo great to see all the purple everywhere! I'm going to love this year!

All the trailers and vehicles!
Thanks to all of our great family and wonderful friends, we completed another successful DITY (Do It Yourself) move. Everyone is tired, but stuff will slowly find it's home. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
