Backyard Water Fun!

 Warning: PICTURE OVERLOAD!

We got a small pool and set it up in the backyard. The weather was actually bearable for the non swimmers too. Will hasn't been a fan of the water or pools so I wasn't expecting much. He actually enjoyed it, but wouldn't sit down in the pool. He walked around and played, but never got too comfy!

(Time for a haircut I think!)

Watch out - she'll squirt you!

And he'll use his watering can to dump water on you!

Playing nicely together....can you believe it!?

My cutie patootie!

And my sweet, pretty girl!

After the pool lost it's appeal, we set up the sprinkler.

Will got much closer than I ever imagined he would!

And then Daddy brought out the BIG guns! And the FUNNNN began!

She loved teasing Daddy and then running when he sprayed her. They were all having a blast!!! Love seeing this!

"You can't get me Daddy!"

And Will was also running from the squirt guns.

On the Run!

And Will couldn't stop giggling either!

Fun was had by everyone! Big and Little!!! It's so cool that Jack still has his super soaker water guns from when he was a kid and they are still in great working order! I feel like these bad boys are going to get LOTS of use over the next several years!

Pool Time

We hit up the post pool for the first time this summer with the Hintz's. The temperature was ridiculously hot!

Will still is not quite a fan but did get into the splash pad a bit. I see swim lessons in his future!

Katelyn and Liam were enjoying the splash pad too!

He was always smart enough (or lucky enough) to move before the water came back on. I don't think it ever got him in the eye. Darn it! I took a ton of pictures just waiting for it to happen, but it didn't. Bummer!

This is about as close as Will would get to getting in the pool and this was the baby pool that was only a few feet deep. Maybe next year ??

My little fair skinned water baby! Poor kids did not get their father's skin tone! :(

Swimming Lessons

Post was offering Level 1 swim lessons and Katelyn was repeatedly telling me that she didn't know how to swim and wanted to learn. This level required parent involvement, so Jack made sure he was off of work early enough to spend a little time in the water with her. Katelyn's friends also took the same swimming lessons. The kids all enjoyed their extra time with their Daddy's. She's continued to ask about going back to swimming lessons.

Practicing floating on her back and swimming on her tummy with the instructor.
These swimming lessons brought back lots of memories of swimming lessons for me as a kid. When I first started, they put us on the steps and we practiced blowing bubbles and going under water. Ahhh, the memories!!

By the end of the first night she was willing to jump in from the side!

And even this silly girl poses for pictures at the pool!

Going down the slide after Katy.
Here she comes!!!!!!

These lessons didn't teach her strokes or anything too technical, but we just wanted her to be more comfortable with the water. I think she accomplished that! Now we just need to go back to the pool during the winter so she doesn't lose what she's learned! AND, she can spend some more time swimming with her Daddy!

FLW Pool

We spent a little time at the pool on post with some friends. The sun went under and it actually got cool so we headed home after about an hour. I can't believe I'm saying that we got cold. The pool is shaded so that added to the coolness. Katelyn is cold even when it's 100 outside though; she needs a little more meat on those bones!

Shooting Katy with the water gun

Will enjoying the water sitting on Mommy's lap.

Katy and Katelyn "swimming" and being goofy

Blowing Bubbles! Next step, blowing bubbles under water.

Those girls!!!

Busy Busy Busy!!

It seems as though it's been a while since I've last posted. So much has been going on and happened since I last posted. Now...where to begin?

We spent most of July and August in Kansas and Missouri. It was so nice to be able to spend time with family again, can't wait until we live closer. We got back to GA the very end of August and it seems that we have been going none stop ever since. No complaints here though....every day we are getting one day closer to be a family of 3 again! Hopefully Jack will be home in less than a month!!

Now, time for LOTS of pictures!

Late August we left Wichita to begin our journey home!
On our way to Jackson, MO from Wichita, we stopped in Springfield and spent the night with Justin, Rachael and Reagan.
It was so fun to see the girls play together.
Reagan is 3 weeks older than Katelyn.

We spent the next week in MO with Grammy and Pops.

Katelyn modeling her jewelry with her glamorous purse.

Coming through the tunnel!

We visited "Safety City" at the Jackson City Park.
This little truck was an Eagle Scout project for Jack when he was 15ish (?).
It was much more complete when it was new with a truck bed, hood, etc.....it appears the weather and people have taken a toll on this lil ol' truck.
Katelyn thought it was pretty cool none the less.

Jack probably never thought when he was building this at the age of 15 that his wife and daughter would someday sit in it!

Then Aunt Rachel, Uncle Jeff and cousin Sadie came for a visit!

Katelyn and Sadie playing in the bouncy house!

WEEEEE!!!!
And then there was the slide in the pool.
Big hit and lots of fun was had by both girls!
It was a regular baby circus around there!!

Practicing her twirling skills with Aunt Rachel's baton.

Katelyn's ready for a ride on the 4 wheeler and
wants one when Daddy gets home!

Katelyn trying on Grammy's reading glasses.

The girls were quite the piano players!

Notice how talented Katelyn is....dancing and playing piano all at the same time! HA!

On the way back home to GA.
We made the trip from MO in 12 hours!
She was the BEST traveler anyone could ever ask for!!!

Well that's about it for the last half of August.
Hopefully it won't take me another month to get another post up!
