This is the question at our house right now. Katelyn has decided in the last couple of nights that she doesn't like to be wrapped like a burrito at night anymore. Monday night we followed our usual routine but after she got swaddled she screamed bloody murder. When we unwrapped her, she was happy as a clam. I thought "Great, she doesn't want to be swaddled." The minute I put her in her bed.....the crying ensued and she was not going to let herself calm down to go to sleep. So last night we tried the one arm in, one arm out swaddle. It didn't work at first but after feeding her at 3 am and her not having the swaddle we tried again. She stirred for the longest time but finally gave in. It was a long night for me as it seemed like I was up every hour. She slept for about 4 hours last night with one arm out so I'm hopeful that we are making progress in the swaddle feat! All suggestions or pieces of advice are welcome!! I have been ready for her to be unswaddle for about 2 months now, so I'm crossing my fingers she has finally decided!
So enough about that, here's a picture from this week!

I wouldn't feel like you need to rush her out of the swaddle. Just follow Katelyn's needs and she'll let you know what she wants. If she continues to break out even with one arm out, I would just forget the swaddle. Good luck, you may have some sleepless nights ahead of you during the transition. Then once you get through the swaddle you worry about them sleeping on their face or getting wrapped up in their blanket, it never ends!
As you know I have never had this problem, since Lo hated being swaddled from birth, BUT do you think she is cold?! My cousins baby use to do that and she discovered he was cold. He now sleeps in footie pjs and a sleep sack. Other idea is have you tried the tummy sleeping yet? That may help to, to minimize the startle reflex. Well, those is my ideas. Also, I too agree to just go w/ Katelyn's flow and keep working on that lovey attachment...it will be a lifesaver for you when you go through all these transitions!!
