Lightweight

Katelyn had her 18 month appt yesterday. The doctor said that she looked great and that she was plugging right along! She was fine with the doctor but didn't care so much for the 5 shots she had to get. She made sure to let us know off and on during the ride home, but once we got home, she must have forgotten because she was her normal self the rest of the day.

She's following right on track to be a lightweight hah! No complaints from me though, but I was guessing she weighed more than she did.

Her stats:
21# 10 oz (~25th%)
31 inches (25th%)

Missouri

After we visited Great Smokey Mountains, we headed to MO to see some friends and family.

All 3 girls : Sadie, Reagan, and Katelyn

Play dough time!

Serenading everyone with beautiful music!

Princess Katelyn enjoying the slide her Daddy used to play on!

It was great getting to see everyone and watching the girls interact with each other.
Now if only we lived were closer!

We hope to see everyone again during the Holidays!

Great Smokey Mountains National Park

A week ago we went to the Great Smokey Mountains for a couple days. It is considered "Off Season" now, so we got a condo for a great price....2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, washer/dryer...you get the gist. It was wonderful and worked great - everyone got a full night sleep because we all weren't sharing a room!

We enjoyed the great views the park had to offer for a 2 days and could have spent many more there and still probably not seen it all. The trees were beautiful and the weather was perfect!

Katelyn enjoying the freedom of not being strapped into her car seat anymore!

This cross was right behind our condo.
There was no church anywhere near, just this lone cross up on the top of the hill.

Getting ready to hike up to Rainbow Falls.
We made it about 1.5 miles up before I was spent as well as Katelyn.
Next time we think we are going to hike 2.7 miles up a mountain,
I should do a little conditioning beforehand.
This lady is OUT OF SHAPE!

Picnic lunch in the bed of the truck.
It was a great way to keep Katelyn contained and
she loves running around the bed of Daddy's truck.

Isn't this beautiful?!?

And it had snowed earlier in the week!!

Katelyn enjoyed playing in the snow.
She was too little last winter to know or remember what snow was.
Hopefully we'll have some snow when we are back for Christmas!

Getting ready to walk up to Clingman's Dome

At the highest point in the park (6300 ft. +)

One of the beautiful sunsets

We hiked 1.3 miles up to Laurel Falls.
This was a much easier hike!!
Both Katelyn and I made it without trouble :)

Katelyn loved putting her hands in the FREEZING cold water.
I think she would have jumped right in if I'd of let her!

Cades Cove

An old Mill that the people of Cades Cove used

We had a great time, a great traveler and caught up on being a family again!

Rocking Chair

The last few days, Katelyn's ventured down the hall and I've found her in the rocking chair in her bedroom. She has figured out how to climb up in it on her own. Although, the figuring out how to climb part isn't so great, it sure is cute to walk into her room and she's sitting up there with a book like a big shot! Her Great Grandpa and Grandma W would be so happy to see their rocking chair getting such great use!

Sneaky

Katelyn likes to try to "sneak" around!
This is her sneaky pose.....

18 Months

I can not believe I'm typing this post. Where has my baby gone?! :(

Katelyn was 18 months old yesterday! I do miss my baby but each new stage she moves into is SO much fun. I love hearing her say new words and try new things on her own. Her vocabulary is starting to grow, day by day.

She LOVES going to "School" every other morning. When I say "Are you ready to go to school?" She replies "YEAH!!!" She used to cry when I dropped her off and cry when I picked her up, refuse to eat lunch and just be miserable there. But for the past couple of weeks, she is so excited to go. When we walk in the room, she runs off to play, eats and eats and eats their lunch (3 helpings some days, and yes I do feed this child at home!) and loves when they go outside to play. I have started noticing how much she is picking up from "school" too. I'm not sure how much they work with her on things but the things she is learning are definitely ones I didn't teach her. They have a strict hand washing policy, so she has become quite the hand washer. No complaints here! Taking her to "school" has probably been one of the best things I could have done for her. She is still a big mommy's girl, but being around all the other kids and being told what to do by other adults is something that I think all kids need to be exposed to!

She has improved a thousand times on her eating. She used to be a rather picky eater or so I thought, but now she is much more willing to give food a try. She's quite the lil meat eater - I'd say that may be one of her favorite things! She does eat better at school than she does for me at home; I'm sure having all the other kids around her eating is a good influence. Or maybe it's because she eats SO much at school she's not hungry for dinner at night --- who knows!

She is still a great sleeper and sleeps for 12-13 hours each night, goes down without any problems and rarely needs me to go in during the night. A huge change from her old sleeping habits of an infant.

She loves being outside and would probably live out there if we let her!

We LOVE you so much pretty girl and you'll always be Mommy's baby!

A Chilly Georgia Day

The last few days have been feeling fall-like and I couldn't be happier! I'm so happy to be able to finally turn off the AC and even have to run the heater at night. After living in GA for almost 2 years, I would say that I miss the changing of seasons the most. I will be very happy to have to wear a coat by Thanksgiving - it may make it feel a bit more Kansas/Missouri Like!

We needed to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Katelyn loves slides and the taller, the better it seems, so the park it was!

And once again a TON of pictures....Enjoy!

She loves it when Jack throws her up in the air!
She'll stand at his feet with her hands up wanting more!

All by MYSELF!

There's a Katelyn girl looking through!

Lots of Air!

Love from Daddy

Finding a stick in the woods

Swinging like a big girl...or just sitting there morelike!

Hope you all have a wonderful week and are enjoying the great weather as much as we are!
