Happy Memorial Day

I know most of you are remembering the real reason why you are not going to work today. We should be truly honored that so many men and women would lay down their lives for our freedoms. Thank you to those servicemen and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice; to those families who never got to give their loved one a hug and kiss at the redeployment ceremony; and thank you to those that are currently overseas and those preparing to deploy. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I feel so proud and honored to have married such a wonderful man who thinks it's important to risk his life for our freedoms. I love you Jack and come home safe!

Our Memorial Day weekend was very uneventful. The weather has been mostly uncooperative so no pool time today. I'm happy to be one more month closer to the end. See ya later May and Bring it on June! :)

Our Red, White, and Blue Cutie!

Katelyn with her friend Emmalyn.
They were twins today!
And Katelyn's doing her favorite thing lately....clapping!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Outdoors Girl

It seems as though Katelyn is going to be an outdoor girl. Just fine by me!! Now that she can walk, she just enjoys walking all around outside picking up rocks, leaves, chasing after dragonflies, and getting dirty. Tonight she was laughing when I was cleaning out the dirt from underneath her fingernails - I'm glad she thinks it's funny because I always hated it when my mom did that to me!

Tonight she walked up to the truck and noticed that she could see herself in the side panels and chrome part of the bumper. She was so excited and would get real close to the truck. She even tried kissing it a couple times...gross I know. And the best part, the whole time she was doing this she kept saying "dadda dadda"...coincidence? Maybe. But so darn cute none the less!!

Mirror Mirror what do you see?
I see Katelyn looking at me!

Go Army!

Such a cute dirty lil face

May fun!

We've had a busy past couple of weeks. Katelyn turned 1, had a birthday party, Grandpa and Grandma J visited for the party and then Grandpa and Grandma W came for a week a little later. She has had a blast with all the company and is sure missing them. Now it's just back to ol' boring mom!

Here are pictures from the week:

Enjoying the backyard pool!

Playing with her new baby doll!
She opened her birthday presents from
Grandma and Grandpa J and Uncle Matt.

Playing with water balloons.
She wasn't scared at all and had a blast.
Notice how wet she is!

We had a BN Mid Deployment party on Friday night and Katelyn got another try at the swing. She liked it and there was no crying!! Maybe we'll have to try it again sometime soon! Only if it weren't so hot...

Katelyn also had her 12 month well baby appt last week. She is still mommy's "little" girl. She got 4 shots and 1 blood draw. She was quite a trooper!!

Her 12 month stats:
17# 15 oz (10th percentile)
28" (27th percentile)

She is completely walking now. She also started clapping this week and is so proud of herself when she does it. She really enjoys being outside and her wagon rides in the evening. She is staring to mimic sounds and will go back and forth repeating you for a while. Her food repertoire is getting bigger and bigger each week (Thank the LORD!) and she is getting used to drinking whole milk like a big girl now! She sure is growing up fast!

We have had a great May so far and this month has seemed to fly by. Now if only the remaining 5 months would go just as fast! Anyone else want to visit GA!? :)

First Birthday!

Katelyn turned 1 last Thursday and it's seemed like a party ever since!

I still can't believe that my baby is 1 already. Before I know it, she's going to be going to school. The time sure does fly. She is learning so much each day and I love seeing what the next day brings. She is officially a "walker" now and enjoying her new mobility. She is slowly becoming a better eater, although we still have some frustrating days. She's still Mommy's "Little" girl. No official stats until the 18th, but she is roughly 18#. Hopefully someday soon she'll pack on enough weight to be able to turn her carseat around! (1 year and 20# is the requirement)

She practiced eating her cake on the night of her birthday, but saved the big one for her party on Saturday.

On Saturday, Katelyn had her birthday party with her friends and Grandpa and Grandma J. She had a blast with her friends and Daddy even got to watch her devour her cake and open a few presents. She seemed to have more fun playing with her friends instead of opening the presents.

Going for a ride in her new wagon! She loves it and also keeps her glasses on while she's riding!

And she loves her cozy coupe from Mommy and Daddy!

We wish that the rest of our family and friends could have been here to help celebrate and we can't wait until Grandpa and Grandma W get here this weekend! Katelyn is loving all the attention she's getting from her Grandparents!

Happy 1st Birthday Beautiful girl!
Mommy and Daddy Love you soooo much!!
