St. Patrick's Day

Today was a busy day for us.
Katelyn went to school, Jack left for the Nascar race in Bristol and
I'm trying to put the house back together after a busy week.
Katelyn had a green kind of day -
Lucky green t-shirt, green hair bows, green shamrock shaped pancakes for dinner with green milk and green applesauce.

Surprisingly, she ate all of it!
Skeptical Katelyn ate it!
Can you believe it?!?

She called her shirt her "Patty" shirt and
she helped make the green "patty" cakes and green "patty" milk.
Maybe that's why she was agreeable to eat it!
Who knows!

A trip to the park to pass the beautiful afternoon!

Helping make the green "Patty" cakes

The shamrock "Patty" Cakes

A green milk mustache!

And last but not least, using all of her K-State tableware in hopes for a March Madness victory tonight!
Let's go Cats!

When head meets dresser

This is what it looks like ---

When Katelyn was getting ready for bath tonight she got a little rowdy and ended up meeting the dresser with her forehead - her first big goose egg!
She was a pretty good trooper about it though and didn't cry as long as I thought after hearing how it sounded when she went down.
Oh well, she lived and life goes on for her!
Just the first of many I'm sure!

The household's been crazy busy lately.
I hope to get y'all caught up in the next few days!

Jacksonville Zoo

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed south to Jacksonville to go to the zoo. The Jacksonville Zoo is the closest zoo - It'd be nice if Savannah had one but no dice. Katelyn and I went a year ago to meet a friend there but she was too small to really enjoy any of it. I thought she would love it this time. Well, I think she might still be too young. The 2 hour car ride didn't help matters either. By the time we got there she looked like she could hardly keep her eyes open and then lasted a few minutes of enjoying looking at the animals before she HAD to have her paci. She was just somewhat grouchy all day long. We left Jacksonville about 1:00 and she was about to fall asleep in the stroller, but do you think she would take a nap on the car ride home?!? NOPE! So at 3 she went down for a nap and woke up with a slight fever and was overall in a crap mood the rest of the night. Maybe teeth, another cold, allergies, who knows, but it might explain her temperament at the zoo today. I'm hoping we can start tomorrow off on a better note!

Daddy pointing out the crocodile's to Katelyn

"I can see the world from here!"

She liked watching the elephants eat and drink and would repeat over and over "Eat, Eat, Eat"

Getting a close up!

The giraffe exhibit was so cool! You could pay $2 to feed the giraffe's little twigs of greenery.
They stick their long gray tongue right through the fence and grab it from your hands!
We would have done it but the line was a mile long.
Next time hopefully!

They had a carousel!
This one went MUCH faster and up and down more than the little one she went on last week.
Overall she enjoyed it, but I think she might have liked the little "baby" one more!

Such a big girl on the carousel!

Checking out the penguin exhibit -
I was a bit disappointed with how this was laid out.
You had to crawl under there to see them swimming in the water.

Even the little kids were having trouble not hitting there head.
Imagine an adult crawling in there - and there were quite a few!

And last but not least - my favorite exhibit at the zoo!!
The Monkeys!!
These guys were pretty busy showing off for us this afternoon.
They were climbing all over and eating reeds.
I could have stood there for hours just watching them "monkey" around.

Hope y'all are having a good weekend too and the weather is being cooperative!

I made this...

Because St. Patrick's Day is such a big deal here.
The guys actually get a 4 day weekend for St. Patty's Day
and the parade in Savannah has over 100,000 people attend it.
It's one of the largest celebrations in the US.
I'll definitely be avoiding Savannah that weekend!

I saw this on a blog and thought it was so cute and so simple!
I love how it turned out!
I'm so excited to be able to make simple, cheap decorations!

Now we won't get pinched at this house! :)

Jumpin' Jacks

Today Amy and I took the girls to Jumpin' Jacks.
It has an arcade and bouncy things.
Neither of the girls liked the bouncing part and even started crying to get out of it.
BUT, the big blow up slides were ok.
Figure that out?!
The slide that Katelyn wanted to do again and again and a.g.a.i.n gave you the stomach up in your throat feeling when you were halfway down, but that didn't stop her!

(Kind of fuzzy because the lighting was terrible
and the camera had a hard time trying to focus from far away.
Bummer!)

At first we would go down together,
but then she decided she didn't need me to go down with her anymore.
And away she went!

The pirate ship had the slide that Katelyn loved.

The 50 cent carousel was another big hit!
They wanted to go again and again and again.
The last time she'd been on a carousel was last 4th of July and she HATED it!

She kept saying "weeeee."
I can't wait to take her to the carnival this summer
and put her on a bigger carousel where the horses do a lot more than more 3 inches up and down!

A Beautiful Georgia Day!

Today was just beautiful weather wise here in GA!
This past weekend it was HOT!
It got into the mid 80s and was tough to not turn the AC on.
I just couldn't fathom turning the AC on in FEBRUARY!
I made poor Jack suffer through it and thankfully it cooled down some the last few days.

Katelyn LOVES to be outside, but I sometimes struggle to find things to keep her occupied.
The motor oil isn't the best toy!
She loves to play with bubbles but if I let her have the "real" bubbles, they will be all over the driveway in the first 5 minutes, so her bottle and wand get her special bubbles in it (water!).
She practiced on her tricycle this afternoon, hopefully soon she'll have that figured out soon so she can motor around on that!

Here's our little outdoor girl:

If you look closely on the right of this picture, you can see the bubbles that she actually blew!
She was pretty surprised herself!

Playing a little soccer

Trying to take the tricycle for a spin, but she needs a little more practice.

Time for a little basketball.
I got this at a garage sale for next to nothing, but it's missing the little piece to keep it in any of the positions so Jack needs to do a little work on it.
But no complaints for the price I paid!

I found a water gun in the toy bin.
It was the hit of the afternoon!
Although she had a little trouble pulling the trigger.
She kept shooting herself in the face.
Someone tell this girl not to point the water gun in her face! :)

She was always so surprised when it'd hit her face and then she'd laugh so hard!
It was hilarious!
She had us both laughing hard!

Now time for a little more coloring

And then the little neighbor girl ventured over.

And I think she exhausted all of her outdoor options!
Good thing Daddy came home from work and it was dinner time,
although she still didn't want to come inside.
We definitely have to take advantage of these fair weather days as the HOT HOT HOT ones are right around the corner!

Hope that Spring is starting to show up for y'all too!
