{Watch Me Grow} 9 Months

3/4 of the way to being 1!!! Slow down little guy - what's the big hurry to get to 1?!?!

Milestones:

He now has his 2 bottom teeth and the top ones are just giving him terrible trouble because you can see them trying to come in. Just come in already!!!

He is now pulling up to about everything, but he just pulls up to his knees. I know it won't be long and he'll figure out how to get up all the way. At least some things are safe right now, but looks like I'll have to be doing some baby proofing soon. I don't think we'll get away with having as much out as we had with Katelyn.....but maybe. Guess we'll see!

CLIMBING! Little turkey! I'm definitely not ready for this phase!! Katelyn was not a climber at all so this will be completely new for me. He thought it was the coolest thing and crawled all the way down the table length before tumbling out. (Don't worry Grandparents, I caught him as he was coming down) But it didn't stop him from trying to get back up there a little while later. Little Stinker!

Language: Lots and lots of jibber jabber and saying of bababababa. I feel like he is starting to say Dada, but I don't think he has really used it appropriately yet, so I'm not counting it until he does!

Eating:

He is back to eating his baby food like a champ. He also loves yogurt, so he gets a cup of yogurt each day for lunch. He was only eating about half of the container, but he's moved up to eating the entire container at one sitting.

He still is not interested in solid foods. He's gummed a few mum mum's and soggy-ed up a wagon wheel, but I just can't get him to eat any of the little puffs or Gerber cheeto things.

Sleeping:

He is starting to sleep better at night. He's had many nights where he's slept through the night, but we still have plenty of nights that he gets up once to eat. He usually goes back down without too much effort. I know his teeth that are trying to come in aren't helping with the good sleep. But, I'm getting more and more hopeful that we are closer to full nights of sleep.

Napping is kind of hard because the poor guy gets woken up to take Katelyn here, pick Katelyn up here, etc. Sometimes he doesn't get much of a morning nap, if any. His afternoon naps are often shortened and I think that his lack of sleeping during the day may be somewhat helping with sleeping at night.

Travel/Events:

Lots of activities this month!

Will had his first Halloween! He dressed as monkey. He was neither for or against it. He went along for the ride! In the spirit of Halloween and Fall, we went to several pumpkin patches but Will wasn't able to participate too much. Just wait until next year!!
First Halloween!

A Monkey ready to hit the town trick or treating......or not.
He went to a few houses before calling it a night!

We went to Tulsa to see Uncle Matt and celebrate his birthday. Papa and Grandma came down as well! We had a great weekend and went to the Tulsa Zoo - Will's first zoo experience.
Thanksgiving! We went back to Wichita to be with my family and see my Grandmother that recently had a stroke and is now in a nursing home trying to get recover. Will did ok in the car, but nothing to write home about. He is definitely not the Johannes road tripper yet....but I'm hopeful that he'll come around.

Favorite Toys/Books:

While we were at Uncle Matt's house, he found the door stoppers. He thought they were the coolest things. (We don't have these at our house so they were a new experience for him.)

Who knew that an ice cube could be so fun and entertaining. He chased it on the floor for a good while before Katelyn decided that she needed to be included in the excitement.

He got his first experience with play doh. Katelyn was playing with it so we gave him a little to see what he would do with it. He was kind of puzzled at first and made a few funny faces after touching it, but then started squeezing it. He didn't even try to eat it either! I guess that would go along with him not wanting to eat solid foods!

Misc:

Cutest Monkey in town! He isn't such a fan of the hat just yet. If I leave it on him in the car, he'll pull on it and work to get it off and often times I'll find him with one eye covered.

He is quickly learning the word "No." He is fascinated with cords (what baby isn't) and electronic devices aka the dvd player. When he gets into these things, I'll say "No Will!" and he'll look at me with a big smile as if saying "It's funny right Mom?" and if I don't smile back he gets a sad face and will often start crying. But his newest thing after I tell him no, is to bury his head in his hands on the floor and maybe try it again to see if he gets the same reaction from me. Such a little stinker!
