Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to a Pumpkin Patch in SE Georgia. When we left it was a little chilly but after being there a few minutes it was pretty hot. I guess that's what fall in GA feels like. Maybe by January it will cool down a bit. Should make for some sticky trick or treating tonight!

And now for TONS of pictures :)

All ready to go to the Pumpkin Patch

I'd never seen this before but thought it was pretty clever.
According to Jack, it's nothing new.
I still thought it was cute!

Not so sure of the animals!
These animals must love the month of October - they get fed constantly!!

This was the goat bridge.
The goat waited at the top on the end.
There was a pulley system with a can on it,
you put food in it and then sent it to the top.
Pretty funny!

Going for a ride!

She got in the bounce house without a thought.
Guess she remembered the bouncey house at Grammy and Pops.

Flying down the slide!
She loves slides but this one was a bit too fast for her I think.
She didn't ask to go again! HA!

Playing in the "Corn Crib."
We should have filled her sand box with corn!

Playing with the pumps at the Ducky race.
She would have stayed here all morning long if we'd let her.
Why?? Because there was WATER!

Going for a "Cow Ride."
Neither Jack nor I thought this would be something she would do without screaming...but we were wrong!
She seemed to enjoy it! Big Surprise!!

She's in the 4th cow - "Sweet Pea"

Trying to decide which pumpkin she wants

This one's the keeper!

We had a fun morning...now to see how Trick or Treating goes tonight!
Should be interesting!

Look what Daddy taught me!

Ohhh how fun it is to have Daddy back!! I know he's going to teach me many more tricks and things Mommy might not think are too cool.....but....isn't that what Daddy's are for?!?

I love you Daddy and am SO glad you are home with me and Mommy!

Love,
Katelyn

Pumpkin Carving

Last night Jack and Katelyn carved a pumpkin, or should I say Jack carved a pumpkin. Either way, Katelyn was happy to take her large spoon and "try" to help clean out the inside, but didn't quite care for touching it. The "squishy" stuff wasn't her cup of tea...maybe next year!

"Ewww slimy!"

Helping Daddy get it ALL out

"No thanks Daddy!"

"You missed a spot Daddy."

And just because I'm TOO darn cute! :)

Welcome Home Jack!!!

After a long year, Jack's 3rd tour in Iraq is finally done.
He arrived home with the rest of E Co in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
We thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and support over this past year.
It is so wonderful to have our family complete again!!

Getting ready to leave the house for the ceremony (It's midnight now!)

Still waking up and trying to figure out why she is at
ANOTHER one of these crazy ceremonies and at this god awful time of night!

Pops keeping Katelyn occupied while waiting

Our pretty girl!!

A video on the jumbotron showing the soldiers getting off the airplane!!

Eating cheetos provided by the USO - she was so messy!
But there was no taking them away - they kept her quiet and occupied for a long time!

Here they come!!!!
AHHHHHH!!!

We were wishing they would march just a little faster!!!

We FINALLY found him!!
There were 353 soldiers on his flight!!!!
(Katelyn was a little puzzled how "the guy" in the computer was standing in front of her!!)

"I guess you are ok and we can take you home with us."

It feels like a dream still!
I love my soldier with all my heart!

We made it home!!
It's now 3:30 AM!!

Daddy helping put Katelyn back to bed - almost 4 AM at this point!
She was such a trooper and crashed the minute she got back in bed
and slept in til almost 9 AM too!!
Thank you so much Katelyn!!!

Playing with Daddy the next morning!
"He's a keeper Mommy!"

Please continue to keep those that are still serving overseas in your thoughts and prayers and pray for continued strength for those family members left behind and that each soldier come home safely!

Busy Busy Busy!!

It seems as though it's been a while since I've last posted. So much has been going on and happened since I last posted. Now...where to begin?

We spent most of July and August in Kansas and Missouri. It was so nice to be able to spend time with family again, can't wait until we live closer. We got back to GA the very end of August and it seems that we have been going none stop ever since. No complaints here though....every day we are getting one day closer to be a family of 3 again! Hopefully Jack will be home in less than a month!!

Now, time for LOTS of pictures!

Late August we left Wichita to begin our journey home!
On our way to Jackson, MO from Wichita, we stopped in Springfield and spent the night with Justin, Rachael and Reagan.
It was so fun to see the girls play together.
Reagan is 3 weeks older than Katelyn.

We spent the next week in MO with Grammy and Pops.

Katelyn modeling her jewelry with her glamorous purse.

Coming through the tunnel!

We visited "Safety City" at the Jackson City Park.
This little truck was an Eagle Scout project for Jack when he was 15ish (?).
It was much more complete when it was new with a truck bed, hood, etc.....it appears the weather and people have taken a toll on this lil ol' truck.
Katelyn thought it was pretty cool none the less.

Jack probably never thought when he was building this at the age of 15 that his wife and daughter would someday sit in it!

Then Aunt Rachel, Uncle Jeff and cousin Sadie came for a visit!

Katelyn and Sadie playing in the bouncy house!

WEEEEE!!!!
And then there was the slide in the pool.
Big hit and lots of fun was had by both girls!
It was a regular baby circus around there!!

Practicing her twirling skills with Aunt Rachel's baton.

Katelyn's ready for a ride on the 4 wheeler and
wants one when Daddy gets home!

Katelyn trying on Grammy's reading glasses.

The girls were quite the piano players!

Notice how talented Katelyn is....dancing and playing piano all at the same time! HA!

On the way back home to GA.
We made the trip from MO in 12 hours!
She was the BEST traveler anyone could ever ask for!!!

Well that's about it for the last half of August.
Hopefully it won't take me another month to get another post up!
