Gingerbread Houses

We went over to Liam's house after school to have lunch and make gingerbread houses. Katy was also there! We ate pizza for lunch, the kids played for a while and then it was time to dig into the candy! We made our own gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and since this was their first time doing most of it themselves......we used hot glue to hold the house together. We knew that being patient while the frosting dried was NOT going to happen and we also  knew that we weren't going to be eating these. The hot glue worked great and soon they were off and rolling!

All the goods! Enough candy for 20 gingerbread houses!!
Undecorated hot glued graham crackers....sounds delicious huh?!

Starting out!

She did very well and was very good about letting me help her, especially with the frosting part.

Liam, Katy and Katelyn working very hard!

And then they decorated sugar cookies too!

Finished houses!

Katelyn and her finished house! She's pretty proud of her creation!

3 cute kiddos!

I can't wait until next year! I think we'll attempt to do one of those kits. I saw a cute Cinderella's castle kit that I'll have to keep my eye out for next year, but this year she's a little young. What a fun day she had making fun memories with her friends!
